On the Rock Ministries is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization with a 6,600-square-foot recreation center that houses a skate park, coffeehouse, concert center, recreation area, computer lab, and outdoor patio. The Rock offers young people, third grade to college age, recreational activities and character building lessons through: after-school programs, skate park & skate team, concerts, trips & retreats, biking adventures, leadership training, and mentoring. www.therockbville.com
Basal Cell Carcinoma Nevoid Syndrome , a.k.a. "Gorlin's Syndrome", carries with it a whole host of lifelong symptoms including, most prominently, skin cancers, jaw and ovarian cysts, macrocephaly (increased head size), wide set eyes, palmar and plantar pitting, brain tumors, and the list goes on and on. Education is imperative and the goal of fundraising for the Basal Cell Carcinoma Network.www.gorlinsyndrome.org
The 2011 planning committee is already hard at work to make this year’s race the biggest and the best. We believe that the of joining forces between The Rock, BCCN, our faithful sponsors and the community of Bartlesville will provide needed exposure and monetary support for these two worthy charities.
